China's Imp. & Exp. of Textile & Apparel USD 194 billion in 2007

An official statistics made by China Customs showed that China's total imp. & exp. value of textile and apparel in 2007 reached 194.353 billion dollars, increasing 17.43% compared with the same period of last year, and taking up 8.94% of China gross imp.& exp. value of foreign trade.
Gross import value of textile and apparel reached 18.737 billion dollars, up 3.69% compared with the same period of last year, and taking up 1.96% of gross import value of foreign trade in China. Among them, textile import was 16.768 billion dollars, increasing 2.53%% compared with the same period of last year, and apparel import was 1.969 billion dollars, increasing 14.71% compared with the same period of last year. The favorable balance of textile and apparel trade reached 156.879 billion dollars in 2007.
Among the main import countries and areas, Japan，Taiwan PR China and South Korea became top three. In 2007, the import textile and apparel from Japan，Taiwan PR China and South Korea was 3.296 billion dollars, 3.194 billion dollars, and 2.533 billion dollars separately, down by 0.35%, down 0.35% and 2.08% separately on the previous year.
Gross export value of textile and apparel in China was 175.616 billion dollars, increasing 19.11% compared with the same period of last year, and taking up 14.42% of gross export value of foreign trade in China. Among them, textile export was 60.543 billion dollars, increasing 15.86% compared with the same period of last year; and apparel export was 115.074 billion dollars, increasing 20.89% compared with the same period of last year.
Among the main export countries and areas of textile and apparel, USA was the top one, Japan and Hong Kong PR China became the top two and three. In 2007, China's export to USA reached 26.634 billion dollars, increasing 14.42% year-on-year; export to Japan was 20.343 billion dollars, increasing 4.04% compared with the same period of last year; export to Hong Kong PR China was up to 18.228 billion dollars, up 1.02% compared with the same period of last year. Total value of export to the above three countries and area reached 652.05 billion dollars, taking up 37.13% of total export of textile and apparel. Export to EU reached 292.14 billion dollars, down by 0.67 % compared with the same period of last year. The statistical said that in2007 China's export of textile and apparel to EU and USA reached 58.849 billion dollars, increasing 6.00% compared with the same period of last year, taking up 31.80% of China's total export value of textile and apparel. Export to other non-restricted countries reached 119.663 billion dollars, increasing 26.27% compared with the same period of last year, taking up 68.14 of China's total export value of textile and apparel.
