Decorative design protection in China Light Textile Center became the nation’s model

Recently, Decorative Design Registration and Protection Office of China Light Textile Center in Shaoxing was listed as one of the first demostration units of the nation by National Copyright Administration, this is the first and only national copyright demostration office in Zhejiang province.
In the past, textile fabrics are semifinisted produts, the intellectual property protection of the decorative design of the fabrics has always been hindering the development of the market of China Light Textile Center. Ever since year 2008, Shaoxing county has attached great importance on solve this problem, taking this as the significant work to promote the transformation of the market and start a new undertaking of the business. In the second half of that year, under the instruction of National Copyright Administration, Shaoxing county set up the decorative design registration and protection office of China Light Textile Center as a comprehensive institute in the market to protect the decorative design. After the setting of the office, based on the core work of decorative design protection, innovation and exploration are undertaking till finally the protection system was formed includes the following content: administrative protection; judicial protection; arbitration; self-decipline of the trades. At the mean while, Shaoxing county made a beginning of trans-province cooperation on textile copyright protection, joining up some leading market places like Shaoxing county, Nantong in Jiangsu, Weifang in Shandong, Foshan in Guangdong, to build a trans-regional copyright protection coordination union.
In the last 3 years, there are 11492 cases of decorative design registered in this office, 12 times as many as the cases registered in the previous 8 years; also during these 3 years time, more than 500 cases on tort has been investigated and mediated, amid 103 cases were allochthonous, retrieving loss of RMB 0.11 billion back.
Copyright registration and protection tremendously aroused the passion of the dealers and greatly promote the development of creative industry of China Light Textile Center. In 2010, Creative Industry Park of China Light Textile Center was awarded as one of the best industrial parks in China.At the present time, the Creative Industry Park has reached 70,000 square meters. Moreover, the largest textile creative industry base in China, with 1 billion RMB investment, is now under construction.
